Soo North spey Clave and Atlantics

Well its that time of year i do my yearly summer track to the Soo for Atlantic Salmon on the spey rod but this year was with a twist. Brad owner of Soo North Fly Shop organised a spey clave.

This was cool because a few guys from my area decided to take the 6 hour trip up. So we got to see the new technology in Loop fly rods and fished the rapids for Atlantic's.
As I crossed the Soo bridge couldn't believe there were hardly anyone on the rapids and the tail out i l love to fish was still open. So in my haste to get to the river I forgot my good camera but had my head cam with me. hooked up on 3 fish but figures the last fish I hooked up and did land the head cam went dead and just my iPhone to take the picture

Well had a hell of a time landing fish ending up losing all but the one, will show a short video at the end of this blog of lost fish.. I  got to fish for 2 days then went to the clave the next two. Totally enjoyed it the guys from Loop Canada, they were so helpful in showing the new technology in rods and casting.

some casting lessons going on

Well at the end of Sunday the last few stragglers went back to Brads store for a few fish stories and even the odd fishing secret slipped out. Guess for all you guys that missed it you will have to stay to the end next time. Had a ton of fun and booking my time for next year
